Ulum Employees Gain Public Participation Accreditation

EUGENE, Ore. – Three employees of The Ulum Group have become Public Participation certified. Vice President Deborah Herron, Director Amber Williamson and Public Relations Associate Adrienne Webb completed The International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate Program Friday, June 4.
The IAP2 Certificate Program provides broad-based learning modules covering the foundations of public participation, including useful tools for designing and implementing effective public outreach campaigns. Participants learn in an interactive and experimental environment that allows for open discussion with their instructor and peers.
"The Ulum Group shares IAP2's belief that those who are affected by a decision own the right to be involved in the decision-making process," said Ulum Group President and CEO Pat Walsh. "Because strategic public participation is imperative to those affected and to the success of many campaigns we are thrilled that three of our own are qualified to implement ethical and sustainable public participation projects."
IAP2 (www.iap2.org) is composed of an international association of members who seek to promote and improve the practice of public participation in relation to individuals, governments, institutions and other entities that affect public interest.
